As the deluge of the wet season gives way to balmy weather, it is time once again for the monthly Nhulunbuy combined churches beach service to start up. So come on down to Cape Wirrawuy on the first Sunday of each month at 5pm for a relaxed time of joining with other Christians to praise God together. Bring a chair or a mat to sit on and some food to eat.
It was an early start for those who came along to the Nhulunbuy combined churches Easter Sunday Dawn Service this year. An early spot of rain provided for a glorious backdrop as people joined in praising God together. Early risers were rewarded with a special time of fellowship – and a tasty breakfast. What a great way to celebrate our risen Saviour!
Easter Sunday Beach Service 2017
It is the hot and sticky season in Nhulunbuy, but don’t let that stop you from coming to church! During January or regular Sunday services will be held in the church function room where we can make the most of the air conditioner.
Regular services will continue each Sunday in January. On New Year’s Day we will have a very relaxed service. Bring an instrument, a singing voice, or at very least some requests for your favourite song to praise God together as we welcome 2017.

This week Sunday School will kick off again for the new year as all the children in church return from various school holiday adventures. Look forward to another exciting year of learning from God’s word with the children in our congregation!

We’re looking forward to welcoming Rev Wendell Flentje to Nhulunbuy as a locum minister until late April. Wendell has previously lived in Arnhem Land, working in agriculture on Elcho Island previously. He has also been a Uniting Church minister in Darwin and moderator of the Northern Synod.
It will be great to have Rev Wendell in town for the next while.
